The HubSpot topic cluster model is a game-changer for improving the SEO of your content, specifically on your blog! But what are HubSpot topic clusters and how do you deploy this strategy? We’ll show you how in this video.
When you write for keywords alone, you have to write a post for all long-tail variations of keywords which has proven to be very time-consuming. In HubSpot topic clusters model, each cluster covers a different topic. Pillar content then links back to each cluster topic and links back to the pillar page.
Using topic clusters in HubSpot improves the architecture of your site, making it easier for Google to find related content, and boost search engine visibility.

How to Create Topic Clusters for SEO AKA Keyword Content Clusters
Discover how to create Topic Clusters for SEO. Sometimes, they are referred to as Content Clusters or Keyword Clusters, and they are a great way to group together your content topics into topics and sub-topics, while also keeping keywords in mind. When you want to expand the keywords you are targeting and create comprehensive content, using SEO clusters can help with your search engine optimization efforts, and it is one of the main reasons that people can rank their websites on the first page of search results.
Some marketers will say to focus on topic clusters rather than keywords, but I believe they all work together. You still want to target keywords and group them together. The best way to focus on short-tail and long-tail keywords is by utilizing topic clusters.
In the video, I will go over a topic cluster example and show you how to create topic clusters. I will also give you a topic cluster template, which shows you a pillar page and the way you link off to cluster pages. When Google is crawling your content and your pages, they will be able to see that you have created great content around an entire topic and each individual sub-topic, which will help increase your rankings.
One reason that clusters work for SEO is because it takes a lot of time to put together 5, 10, 15, or even 20 pieces of content and to link them all together. In addition, when people search popular keywords in Google, you can have the website that covers the topic best. You are not only solving your customers problems, you are creating great content for search engines. It is a win-win all around.
Topic clusters will work in 2019 and 2020 for SEO as long as you focus on creating cluster pages and pillar pages and linking them all together. If you want to rank for some of the most popular keywords, you need to have the best source of information on the internet.
What is a topic cluster?
It is when you cover a topic and break it into sub-topics, cover them as well with individual pieces of content, and then link all of your cluster pages to your main page. You can break topic clusters into hierarchy’s as well, so you have a topic at the top level, a sub-topic at the 2nd level, and then additional sub-topics at the 3rd level, and so on and so forth.

It is a process of creating content for multiple related topics and linking them all to a main topic page. Since short-tail keywords and competitive topics are difficult to rank for, you can ensure that you are targeting competitive topics with your content and your keywords. Over time, your rankings will improve with clustering.
